Leadership Begins in the Secret Place
Scripture
Mark 1:35
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”
Reflection
Jesus was the most in-demand leader of His generation. Crowds waited. Needs were urgent. Yet before the day claimed Him, He claimed the morning for His Father. He did not pray because He had extra time; He prayed because He had none to waste. Notice the order: solitude first, then service. What we do in secret determines what we can sustain in public. A leader who is always available to everyone and never alone with God will eventually lead out of an empty well.
Leadership insight
Your public capacity will never outgrow your private communion. Protect the first minutes of your day the way you protect your most important meeting — because it is.
Prayer
Father, before anyone needs me today, I need You. Quiet the noise in me. Teach me to seek Your face before I seek Your hand. Let what I carry into this day come from time spent with You. In Jesus' name, amen.
Today's step
Tomorrow morning, give God the first fifteen minutes — before your phone, before the news, before the messages. Write down one thing He impresses on your heart.
